Katriona (also known as Kate or Katey) came to France as an Erasmus student in 2001 as part of her law degree with Nottingham Trent University. She fell in love with the country and after graduating in 2003 returned to work and study. She taught English whilst completing a French Masters in International Law and a Masters II in French Business Law and Taxes at the University of Bordeaux.

Kate began her career as a Paralegal in the Dispute Resolution team of Hogan Lovells in Paris before becoming an in-house lawyer specialising in Company law. In 2012 she joined Cabinet Henderson near Bordeaux and became a Personal Tax Adviser, helping her clients to understand and comply with their tax obligations, also ensuring that numerous and often quite complex allowances and exemptions were fully utilised.

In 2017 Kate became an Independent Financial Adviser for the Spectrum IFA Group and now works in the Bordeaux area using her legal and tax knowledge to help expats plan their finances, understand French law and invest tax efficiently.

Testimonials

“I have known Katriona for several years since the time when she was a Personal Tax Adviser. When she became a Financial Adviser we stayed in touch and she came to visit me. Katriona is always happy to answer any questions I may have in a prompt manner. I asked her for advice as to what area I should invest a sum of money and I was given various options without any pressure.”

“I’ve never used a financial adviser before and have always been reluctant to discuss my finances with others. However, many things transpired ( brexit, retirement, inheritance) that meant my partner and I needed to spend some time planning our future financially, to ensure we can continue with our lives in France for as long as we want to. Katey was recommended to us and we have been very impressed with her level of knowledge, her professionalism and her patience. She explains things honestly and clearly. We can thoroughly recommend her and will be continuing to work with her in the future”.
